| - Checking in the morning before a very large conference was starting, my wait and check-in was very quick. My standard room had excellent air conditioning, the most comfortable mattress and bedding, lots of space with a desk and chair, a huge deep soaking tub, and a super-large TV. I truly enjoyed time spent in the room, and room service was reasonably priced.
Restaurant choices had a good variety and much improved over recent years. I like the addition of last year's Italian restaurant, and while the food was good, I didn't have a good experience with our server who seemed more interested in only paying attention to his large high-spending tables and making that very obvious to us with drive-by service where we had to call out to him to ask for a drink refill or with questions.
Benihana Village, the Edge Steakhouse and the new grill (with street tacos, nachos, quesadillas, Philly sandwiches, burgers, personal pizzas, etc.) have all been pretty darn good in the taste of the food and the service. Prices are on par for what you'd expect from dining on-site in a Vegas casino.
The entertainment this past Saturday 8/12/17 was particularly good, and I wish I had caught the performer's name. He played in the casino just off the side of the International Bar.
I still feel the casino floor is pretty small and they could stand to have some additional slot choices by far. This is one of my biggest complaints. But service in the bar at the players card desk and from the casino drink servers was very good and friendly. The servers were tell me their name, how long they were on shift and invite me to get their attention however I needed to if I needed anything at all.
The newly renovated spa was quite a surprise. I had a massage service that was the best massage I've ever had in my life and ran into another spa patron who exchanged the same thoughts about her masseuse. The steam room was way more than I could handle for even 2 seconds, so I ditched that idea and tried the dry sauna, which was much more my speed. The whirlpools were a constant 100 degrees and very comfortable, and I enjoyed those with chilled towels infused with eucalyptus over my head and a glass of wine in my hand. Very relaxing. I'll definitely do this again when I return.
