| - Like a lot of people, I find the cover charge silly, especially since so many other bars offer live bands for less than the cover here. As someone pointed out, covers are fairly standard in cities. Madison's a city, but I don't think we can say we should do things here the same as in Manhattan.
Probably my biggest complaint is that when I've been here with a few friends, the women in the group get cut off really quickly. I get that the bartenders are trying to keep folks safe, and if it were equally applied and used with discretion, it wouldn't bother me. But neither of those things is happening. (I haven't been there for a while, so things could have improved.)
Finally, I think this is a complaint of most gay bars, so I'm not singling out Plan B, really, despite mentioning it here. On the weekends, I've seen lots of hetero couples come to dance, and they're all "gay men are soooo fun!! We love dancing with them!" Without any awareness that their presence may be offensive to others.
