| - I can't help but laugh at the Pamela's-esque flocks of sad brunchers every single weekend standing outside (what is it with Pittsburgh and breakfast hype?). Yes, Coca Cafe, your food is good--excellent, even. 5 stars for food. Stars are in the negative for service. The first time I came here, I was innocently duped like everybody else, tempted by "there's this really great brunch spot in Lawrenceville!" An hour wait for a table is "hang-ger" inducing enough, but another hour wait on top of that AFTER being seated is unacceptable. This happened once, and I assumed it was maybe a fluke. When it happened the second and last time I went here, the exact same thing occured.. The waitress even spilled juice all over my boyfriend's shoe (our meal was comped after that, at least). Honestly, I feel bad for the servers because it isn't necessarily their fault that the food takes forever. Kitchen staff, get your sh*t together.
Seriously, do not plan to dine at Coca Cafe for brunch unless you will not be hungry for at least another hour and a half.
