I have stayed at the Excalibur once, and have visited it many of times. The Excalibur is one of the more family friendly hotels on the strip (next to the Circus Circus) so I stayed here before I turned 21 with my parents and sister because we liked to visit the arcade portion of the hotel/casino. I remember the room being basic, but clean and quiet which was nice.
The Excalibur is connected to the New York New York, MGM Grand, Tropicana, Mandalay Bay and Luxor Hotel/Casinos so it's easy to go from one hotel to the next without having to go down to the strip which is nice to avoid some of the crowds.
Dining options are semi limited at the Excalibur. The buffet/cafe is OK and they have the national Buca de Beppo chain which serves average to good Italian food. They do have a really nice food court which I have to give them props for. I really enjoy the Krispy Kreme that is there, and I really wanted to try the Schlotzsky's Deli which has a small stand as well. They also have a Yogurtland which is my favorite yogurt place.
The casino is on the older side (compared to some of the ones further down the strip) but it is kept up nicely and I always enjoy my time there. I would come back again to hangout, eat, or stay in one of the rooms.
