For Valentine's Day my husband and I decided to venture down to the St. Lawrence market to do some shopping. We had no plan in mind, but knew we wanted to cook something special for dinner! Apparently, we weren't the only ones with this idea. The market was PACKED! If you go on a Saturday, be sure to bring your patience.
Though strolling through the market was challenging given the crowds, the people-watching was incredible!
For dinner, we decided on some incredibly fresh seafood, a huge steak, and a sourdough baguette. We also bought a package of sea salt from a highly knowledgeable vendor located on the lower-level. For dessert we selected two custard tarts from Futures Bakery which turned out to be the perfect choice!
After doing all of our shopping we were starving! We decided to brave the crowds surrounding the Carousel Bakery. We ordered veal sandwiches and they did not disappoint. This place is famous for its peameal back bacon sandwiches - but I don't think you can go wrong ordering anything here. We found a quite place outside of the market to eat our lunch before heading home.
