I decided to give this place another chance since I found a good deal on a groupon. I made an appointment for a pedicure and gel manicure in the morning so it wasn't that busy anyway. Of course I tip at least 20% before the discounted price but I wish I tipped at the discounted price for the pedicure since the quality of my service was compromised.
The woman doing my pedicure never spoke to me which I don't really care that much about but her energy felt kind of negative. I feel like she hated her job. She wasn't that experienced either. She was slow. I think her experience is mostly in doing eyebrows. She didn't like the way she painted my big toes or she messed up, so she took the paint off and never put clear coat on top, which I didn't notice until a different manicurist pointed it out right before I left. The whole time I was wishing I had the girl next to me doing my pedicure instead because she was making conversation with her client and she was really nice. I don't want to talk the whole time but if someone is performing a service on me, I would like some positive energy so I don't feel like they're hating every minute of it.
The woman who did my gel nails was super bubbly and friendly. She made my experience a lot better. She put the top coat on my toes before I walked out but of course I felt reluctant because I didn't want to mess up the paint as it wasn't dry yet. A week later, my gel nails still look good. The paint hasn't chipped but it looks a bit rippled at the tips. Not that big of a deal. The normal wear and tear.
