| - my parents and I decided to eat here because we love Hawaiian food. It wasn't our first time here, but tonight was the first time we were disappointed out of all the times we've eaten here... it's a Friday night, I was excited Bc there was live music which I always enjoy. my parents ordered the Aloha Friday special which is choice of pork lau lau or Kalua pig with rice, Mac salad, lomi lomi And Haupia... I ordered the Korean chicken, which was very good -- no complaints about that! However, the aloha Friday special was very disappointing.. Our server told us in advance that they ran out of lomi lomi and for both the Lau Lau and Kalua pig, it would be $7 extra and I told her that's fine.. Soo when we got the aloha Friday special plate, there was Lau Lau + Mac salad + rice and a bowl of Kalua pig on the side.. when we finished our plate, I asked the server if we're getting our Haupia and she said, "oh, we ran out of that too." -__- my only reaction was "WOW!" all I could do was shake my head.. if she told me that both the lomi lomi and Haupia they ran out off, In advance, then We woulda ordered something else but server failed to mention all.. seriously though, you might as well have said that they were sold out of the aloha Friday special instead of serving half the plate.. I basically paid for a full entree, but only get ¾ of the order.. That's crazy to me.. for the aloha Friday special, it cost me $18.75 ($11 for the lau Lau, rice, and Mac salad + $7.75 for the bowl of Kalua pig) that was NOT WORTH THE PRICE! Our server should've offered something to compensate what they ran out of OR discount the price of the plate!!! would you pay that much for ¾ of what you ordered?! hell no! I will post a picture to reference this review and owners and workers of island flavor, please tell me if that aloha special plate was worth $18.75 Bc I can tell you and others I've shared this with can tell you it's not!!! and then you got the nerve to charge me full price?! Or not even offer anything to compensate for the lomi lomi and Haupia?! I'm not one to complain but that just made our experience tonight, a horrible one.. I still tipped, only 10% because the service could have been better.. Our server didn't even smile once to us or the table next to us.. and she didn't even check up on us, not once.. Island flavor should really take this into consideration.. You shouldn't be charging your customers full price and not give them the full order.. It's not fair.. I left a comment on the receipt as well.. so please take this as constrictive criticism.. the next time we eat here, I don't want to have another experience like this..
