Not as easy to find as you might hope ... the front door is actually around the corner south of 5th Ave ... but well worth the confusion. Watermelon and cucumber salad was cool, refreshing, and an interesting presentation. Their barrel-aged cocktails will knock your socks off - almost literally - heavy on the alcohol, which I consider a plus in my drinks. Loved the coffee-rubbed short ribs. The accompanying cherry BBQ sauce was the perfect blend of sweet/tart, and wasn't thick or gummy as so many BBQ sauces can be. My only complaint about the short ribs was a personal preference issue on the side ... I HATED the pureed parsnips. Think of nasty mashed turnips, and then make them sweet .... BLECH!!! Thank heavens they didn't contaminate the ribs (lol). The waitress kindly brought me some mashed potatoes instead. Friends had the Cuban sandwich (pronounced both "tasty" and "huge"), and the chicken ("spicy and delish"). Friendly smiling staff, attentive but not hovering service, altogether a great experience. Word to the wise for anyone with hearing aids or other hearing issues - concrete floors mean the place is super loud.
