  • Great bakeries are hard to find. I had hoped the Jerusalem Bakery would be a find and I was not disappointed. They had a nice selection of baked goods on display. The small shop smelled like when my grandma used to bake in her kitchen. Today I bought the almond challah, a box of cookies with jam, and house made marmalade. The almond challah was amazing, light, not too sweet, filled with an almond paste, covered with almonds on the outside and done perfectly. The cookies with jam were buttery and delicious and the marmalade was first rate, (I love good orange marmalade, have tried brands from England, Morocco, Scotland and New Zealand). This jar was yummy. It will not last long in my house. I plan to return regularly to try all the other great things I saw today.
