What a great addition to the South Hills!! For those people looking for something different (that isn't a chain restaurant), you should definitely check out Mindful Brewing.
This was my first trip here since opening. We visited on a rainy Saturday afternoon to meet up with some family, watch some college football and have a few beers. Definitely a great spot for that. They had a few TV's spread throughout the bar/dining room but the place itself didn't feel like too much of a "bro hang-out". From what I observed there were quite a few families here with some younger kids. That may have been because it was a Saturday afternoon. Fair warning though, I would imagine this place has the right setting to get packed on prime nights. Which is likely the cause for some of the negative reviews about parking and the no-wait app.
The brewery itself had a super cool atmosphere if you're into that brewery kind of setting. If you have a problem finding a beer you like here then you should honestly just stay home. Their bottle shop hits you in the face the minute you walk in the front door with a full bar + a smaller selection of bottled wines. The bottom floor was their main dining room and the top consisted of more seating which overlooked the first floor and was connected to what looked like a really nice outside rooftop patio.
Food - while I felt like we waited a while for our food, it was surprisingly good! We all felt like it was well worth the wait. What was a little concerning was that the restaurant didn't seem all that busy for the amount of time it took to get our food? If that's considered normal I can't imagine what the wait would have been like if they were really busy.
Everyone at our table really enjoyed what they ordered. I had the "Mindful Chicken Sammie" with a side of their Nashville hot sauce (just enough spice) - it was delicious. Well worth the wait. My wife had the Jerk Shrimp Wrap and others at the table had the Veggie Wrap and sweet potato pierogies (delicious - yinzers love their pierogies).
Considering the location, the atmosphere, and selection of food and beer I felt like everything was priced accordingly. All and all - we enjoyed our time at MB and I wouldn't hesitate to return for dinner, a football game or just an afternoon hang!
