| - A VIEW to a Thrill.
It's high rolling high in the sky on one of the newest additions to the Las Vegas skyline. The high roller, a larger than life ferris wheel, now affords people stunning views of the Las Vegas strip and surrounding areas.
NOTE: Operates 1130am to 200am daily. Tickets can be bought at various booths/stands up and down the Las Vegas strip, automated kiosks along the Linq promenade, or at ground level ticket office at the entrance to the High Roller.
LOCATION: The high roller is the centerpiece and main attraction at the Linq (formerly Imperial Palace). It rises above the Vegas strip behind the Linq hotel at the end of the shopping promenade.
TICKET TO RIDE: We bought night tickets for their "happy half hour" so we could admire the bright lights of Vegas. An open bar is placed in the center of the cabin to allow free-flowing drinks while taking in the views of the city. Ticket price: $44.95
BY THE NUMBERS:

BOARDING: Passenger will first pass thru a security check point on the ground floor. The second floor has a bar as well as restrooms. I'd recommend using the restroom first if needed since there are none in the cabins. I would advise to pay attention to the attendants just before boarding as they will instruct you in which line to stand in, where to stand, and when to board. The wheel moves slowly enough (one foot per second) and thus does not stop entirely to allow passengers to board or exit the cabins.
RIDE: It was definitely a happy half hour as the drinks were readily prepared and given, while the bartender was quite friendly and outgoing. As there were just four passengers in our cabin, there was much conversation, laughter, and a few group "cheers" as well. The views were just simply amazing, and it was such a delight to have the opportunity to gaze at the bright lights below. The ride was over before we knew it as you barely feel any movement as the wheel rotates. Soon enough our cabin was at the peak, and at the very next moment it was time to make our exit.
EXIT: Passengers disembark the cabins much the same way they entered, just on the opposite side. Trinkets or souvenir photos can be purchased at the gift shop on the first floor.
BOTTOM LINE: The happiest half hour I've ever experienced. Time well spent surely.
