rev:text	For a long time, I've held a negative image of the Stratosphere. I've never stayed there, but many years ago I visited the casino and wrote it off. However, my image has changed after dining in the Top of the World Restaurant last September. Arrive early, as it's a long walk through the hotel and to the elevators that take you to the top. You also must go through a security check point that took about ten minutes. The views are breathtaking. Really, one of the best views on the strip. The service is top notch. Everyone on staff was warm, welcoming and more than competent. Along with the view, they are the superstars of the restaurant. Do not order the tasting menu, unless you are on the competitive eating circuit. The portions are mammoth. If you do decide to try it, as it is a great deal, make sure to eat about 1/3 of each course, so that you will have enough room to taste them all. The food is excellent and I nearly cried when I felt ill during my steak from too much food. I couldn't even take the smallest bite of dessert because I was so stuffed. Our server told us that the tasting menu has grown in size over the years and people rarely are able to eat it all. You've been warned! It's a little cheesy, but also exciting to occasionally see people bungee jumping off the side of the building. It's so unexpected, that they have warning signs on the walls. They will also send around a photographer, which again is cheesy, but we got such a great photograph out of it, that we bought it. I'm glad to have had this dining experience. It's well worth the money.
