| - My second time in at Bloom on Monroe this Saturday. The first time I was there, a few weeks ago, weekday, it was so slow I decided to leave. Second try, this weekend I had some more time to wait it out, and see if the goodies are worth the wait. i was just in for a coffee and a bakery item, not to sit down and eat, but My experience was slow service and $$$ expensive. Not sure what was the hold up- there seemed to be a lot of folks working, not that many people in like ahead of me and it didn't seem like extra complicated orders or anything, so I'm puzzled there. so maybe the wait was a fluke. The folks working were nice and friendly enough, just slow. That being said, I did not think the treats were worth the wait or the cost.
I guess if I was in the right frame of mind it would be ok once in a while, but the thing that totally tuned me off is that place where the line cues and where the bakery items are is in a tight hall right in front of the service door to the kitchen, and to the bathrooms. Very awkward and uncomfortable place to wait so long. Because of that, I will honestly choose from one of the other outstanding shops on Monroe when I want a coffee and snack, given the situation I experienced on two separate visits to Bloom on Monroe.
