Pros:
Very good sushi
Friendly staff
Cons:
Sushi portions could be better
Came here for a lunch one afternoon. This is another one of those places where I have Yelp to thank for finding it.
Walking in, I notice the place looks much bigger on the outside than inside. There's basically 5-6 tables here, that's it. I'm guessing a lot of their business comes from people ordering to go. We came at the start of lunch time so it wasn't too busy. When we were finishing up though, all the tables were taken. I take it when it's busy, you're better off getting take out.
Sushi Wa has a wide variety of sushi with some Korean items as well. The owner is Korean so there are some Korean restaurant trends present here as well. You get some free appetizers when you dine in like most Korean restaurants. For any sushi newbies, they have a menu that has pictures of every item on the menu. Pretty useful for newbies and anyone looking to try something new as well.
My GF and I both ordered lunch time bento specials. I got the bulgogi and she got the Sushi bento. I ordered an extra spicy salmon roll as well. The bentos come out pretty quickly after ordering. Overall, the bentos are really well done. The sushi tastes pretty good and the bulgogi was cooked very well too. My only little gripe is the fish portion on the sushi was a little on the thin side. Bearing in mind that the prices are pretty good here, it's nothing too big
The service here is excellent. The waitress was very attentive and patient through out our meal here. Joseph, the owner is one of the most friendly owners I have ever met. He introduced himself halfway through our meal. He wanted to know our names and wrote them down promising to remember them if we came back. It was very nice to have chat with him. We were told if anything was wrong, he would fix it personally.
Overall, I really like this place. It's a great choice for a comfortable, relaxing meal.
