I have to say upfront that tofu pudding is my most favorite dessert in the world. It reminds me when I have Authentic Tofu Pudding when I go to Taiwan. Anytime I see tofu pudding on a menu from boba shops or other restaurants, I will order it and try it. And so far every place in the U.S. has failed to meet my expectations, EXCEPT for MEET FRESH! As far as traditional Taiwanese Tofu Pudding with peanuts goes, I've not had anything better outside of Taiwan, EVER.
I will be back soon. The tofu pudding has the right consistency, the peanuts are cooked super soft, and it is meant to be soupy and sweet. My friend had the Jelly with taro, and we will be back to try the shaved ice when it gets warmer.
For those who like the Cantonese style of Tofu dessert with ginger that you can get from dim-sum, this is not the same. This is the Taiwanese style of tofu dessert which is served in a push cart at the daily fresh market. For anyone who may be nostalgic for the tofu pudding from Taiwan, this is it!
Price: it is pricier than other dessert places, I admit. But TOTALLY worth it.
