| - The Westin Kierland was a very nice, well kept resort. The staff was very friendly and always had a smile on their face regardless of the time of day. The rooms are very clean and offer of space. The shuttle service is terrific and always quick to get you where you need to go! The spa services were fantastic and the juice bar was a nice option for a light breakfast!
We enjoyed the pool area and the service was great - they play some really good music there as well!
There are a few areas of opportunity:
1. When you're paying $399 per night, it's disappointing to come back to the hotel after dinner with a group to find out the lobby bar closes at 10:30pm. That wouldn't be a big deal if they offered the same level options at ALL locations throughout the hotel, however they don't. The selections in the lower level bar are average at best and it would seem the large open seating areas throughout the lobby would be a place of gathering for a drink after dinner. The excuse was it's too loud for the guests on the 3rd floor....hmmmm, two of us were located on the 3rd floor and didn't hear a thing throughout the entire 5 day trip.
2. Scotch Bar - this is a unique space that offers some hard to find scotch options for guests. The bartender - scotch expert, Guy could make the experience better if he had a better attitude. Don't get me wrong, he's very knowledgeable, however his customer service when it comes to making you feel welcome leaves something left to be desired. He's sarcastic with about every comment, making you feel as if it's a bother to ask questions or not know exactly what type of scotch you want to try. Again, he knows his products but just leaves a bad taste in your mouth about wanting to stop by the Scotch Library more than once.....
So, it's very nice location, however I'm not sure it's worth the cost. I'd go back if rooms were less expensive, however I think we'll be searching other option first.
