I kept hearing from multiple sources how great Lotus of Siam was, so I immediately bookmarked it, but after many failed attempts while in Vegas I was beginning to feel that I would never get to check it out. As I was beginning to forget about LoS, I was reminded and managed to wake up in time to come an hour before closing. There was no wait that all my friends complained about. Sweet!
Lotus of Siam is located in a sketchy-looking strip mall off strip. Don't let the area scare you away, because you'll have a enjoyable meal. Nothing like a little bit of anxiety to stir up an appetite. Based on the looks of it, you wouldn't have guessed that it won a bunch of recognitions and popped up on shows and magazines.
Food:
1) Pad See Ew is always a safe and solid option. I always have to order it when I eat Thai.
2) Green Curry - I haven't had a bad experience with Thai curry, *Knock on wood* It was savory and creamy.
3) Crispy Rice - I didn't expect the crispy rice to be limy. I personally like the limy flavor, so I personally enjoyed it.
4) Tom Yum Soup was good. It didn't particularly stand out from all the other ones I've tried. Other than the price tag.
Service: Decent. Nothing special.
Overall: Good food. The taste was on the better side, but the portions were lower while the price was higher than all the Thai restaurants I've been to.
