OMG! I sure do love chocolate and Ethel does not disappoint! A must try (if you are 21+) are the liquor filled chocolate barrels. They come in an assortment of chocolate flavors and have a variety of different types of liquor in each. I have eaten a LOT of chocolate in my life and these are truly unique and delicious!!! They come barrel shaped and when you bite into them there is a thick almost caramel-like center filled with liquor. The alcohol content is very, very minimal but they have a strong liquor flavor. The liquor filling pairs so perfectly with the thick decadent layer of chocolate surrounding it! My first time at the chocolate factory was on a Hoover Dam tour years ago, we made a stop on the way home from the dam. We took a quick "tour" if you want to call it that.. you walk in and can look at the workers through a window making chocolate. At the end of the "tour" you can sample three different types of chocolate (dark, milk, white). When I saw the prices of the chocolates I decided I didn't want to buy any because they were a little pricey. Had I not been given a sample of one of the chocolate barrels, I wouldn't have known how wonderful and delicious they are! They're about $2 each and well worth every penny! A box is around $20. I went to Vegas this past summer and had to make a special stop for chocolate barrels. I needed to make sure they were still just as good and they are!!! Another note, they use high quality ingredients and NO preservatives! That is always 5 stars in my book! Outside the factory is a pretty cool cactus garden that you can walk through. If you miss the opportunity to visit the chocolate factory while in Vegas, they have one at the airport!
