My wife made a recent purchase at the Tropical Pkwy. location using her American Express card. When I attempted to return one of the items today, they were unable to issue a refund back to our account since I used my American Express and not hers, even though the cards are linked together. Their answer was to return with my wife's card and stand on the lengthy checkout line (since they don't have a return counter) or settle for one of there store credits. And why would I want one of store credits when all I wanted was a simple refund to my card. Upon arriving home I called American Express to find the truth. I was informed it is up to each individual merchant, however they will reach out to Michaels to help them improve their customer service experience. Come on Michaels, get with the times!
