  • I recently took my wife's car to Brakes Plus in Avondale after obtaining an estimate from them for some control arm bushings that the dealership suggest I replace. After they got the vehicle in they changed their pricing on me and also recommended 4 struts that I told them I was pretty sure the dealership had replaced. The service adviser told me they were weak and pressured me into replacing them as they had a buy three get one free offer for a limited time. After the fact I learned after doing some research that I didn't need struts as the dealership had replaced them plus the car wasn't showing signs of bad struts such as bouncing ride, tire wear etc. I learned the mark up on the parts and struts were 2-3 times the retail price for the exact parts. Knowing this now I give them the lowest rating for selling me overpriced parts I didn't need. The quality of their work is superb so they do have good mechanics but watch out for the office staff who just wants to make a big commission check. I will never return to Brakes plus. I trusted them or would have done my research first.
