  • This place is totally happening in a far out way. I absolutely enjoy every trip I have here. Past visits have bestowed upon me some things I still have and love to this day- a vintage Japan Airlines stewardess bag, a flapper costume, a PBR belly tee- yes, they do have A LOT of cool stuff. They have rooms upon rooms of clothing and records, ashtrays and martini mixers, jewelry and purses, furniture and kitchen ware that would make Marsha Brady, June Cleaver, and Janis Joplin squeal with glee. But the problem lies not with the lime green vinyl couches or the plethora of classic Playboys. More and more I find myself leaving empty handed thinking, wow everything in there is really expensive. Sure, fine, most things are actual vintage, but just because it came from the 60's doesn't mean that it should cost more than it did when it was new. The price for furniture is insane. For $700 I can get a nice, new sofa that isn't covered with cigarette burns and the remnants of some swinger party. The last time I was there they had a Strongsville soccer league shirt-of which I had many when I was a child-they wanted $20. $20 for a shirt that only a kid could fit into that another child sweat profusely in 15 years ago. Most of the T-shirts they have are ones you could find at a local Salvation Army or Goodwill for a few dollars. I digress- I do still like spending time in this other world. Christmas is my favorite time to visit because aluminum trees and plastic light up Santa's rule the store. If you do end up with a purchase the staff always wraps it up in such a way that it makes you feel as though you are receiving a present. Totally worth the time whether you're in the area or just have a day off.
