| - Daifuku and Totoro cookies! My cousin and I came for some sweet treats after lunch at Sprout. We ordered matcha, strawberry, chestnut, and houjicha daifuku, and we also got a small bag of Totoro shaped cookies.
We greatly appreciated that the baking cups they use aren't just regular baking cups, but they have a nonstick surface so our daifuku didn't stick to them when we tried to pick them up. We wanted to share our daifuku, so we asked for a knife. They don't have knives. They do have forks though. I thought this would be a terrible idea, but surprisingly, the forks cut through these daifuku really well. I think that's a great testimony to how soft but not mushy these daifuku were. Both my cousin and I aren't fans of artificial strawberry flavoring, but the strawberry daifuku tastes like real strawberries! The chestnut was tasty, but definitely not my favorite. I'm a sucker for matcha, so I really enjoyed that one, and it was good on matcha flavor. I don't like it when people say they have matcha flavored foods that are green, but don't taste like matcha. This one does. The houjicha was our favorite though. There's something about roasted green tea that's amazing. It's also a rather unique flavor.
While I can't afford to have these all the time, they do make for a lovely treat.
Oh. And the Totoro cookies. Those were cute. I can't bring myself to eat them. Yeah...
