| - So amazing to have a huge new music venue right on the strip...even more reason to take a weekend trip to Vegas! My husband and I were fortunate to attend the inaugural show with The Killers and Wayne Newton. As long-time Killers fans, we had always wanted to see them in Vegas...and what a way to open up the arena!
They are definitely working out some kinks...first, parking and traffic were a mess. Our poor cabbie had no clue where to drop us off. The police were directing to no avail.
We had general admission pit tickets (cuz there is no other way to go), and had to get an "escort" to the pit, as the corridors were so confusing.
We had a huge wait between acts, and house lights were obnoxiously blinding. My other complaint is that, other than beer which I don't care for, they had two "cocktails" on tap which were basically $18 sugary punches.
Otherwise, I loved the venue. The special effects were amazing from lasers, smoke, confetti, stage lights, special effects to the biggest balloon drop I have ever seen! On this special opening night, they brought out performers from several Vegas shows, and Wayne performed with the Killers toward the end of the show.
The area outside of the venue is amazing. There is a park filled with art that has lots of tables and chairs set up...places to pre-party before a show, chill afterward, or just people watch. It is a park that I would love to hang out in even when I'm not going to a show.
The whole surrounding area has bars and restaurants, and an overall fun atmosphere.
So, I would love to see the kinks worked out, and, of course, a better liquor selection, but I look forward to seeing another big show there, ....as well as spending some time in the park outside.
