| - August Henry's has never really been on my radar. It's surrounded by all the super trendy Penn Ave restaurants that people are currently drooling over. So when we opted out of long waits at a few other nearby places and stopped in for a late dinner, I wasn't sure what to expect.
Pleasantly surprised. It's an old style pub and that's really the atmosphere. Plenty of TVs around the bar. They had a $6 Long Island Iced Tea special, so I jumped right on that. Unfortunately it wasn't very good. I wanted to order pierogies, but they had run out. Ended up going with the Chipotle Burger and it was on point. Actually, if I ever wanted a burger after a game, I'd probably go here again. It was just a fun atmosphere. People were drinking, laughing, and enjoying themselves.
So despite the fact that it's not utilizing the barn wood, galvanized tin, industrial interior design trends like the neighboring restaurants. The food is decent, service was good, and they have a nice drink selection. Nothing fancy, or pretentious like the surrounding options. It was simple, fun, and easy. Nice pub atmosphere.
