Upon checking in for Valentine's Day the clerk admitted they did NOT have the king size bed we specifically requested. We agreed to look at a room with two doubles and immediately went back downstairs to request an alternate.
A different clerk greeted us and offered $50 off a larger room with a full size bed. We went upstairs to investigate...the bed was a pull out and looked less comfortable than the futon I slept on most of my college career.
Vday was going from bad to worse:-(
We went BACK downstairs and spoke to the clerk again asking if there really was NO king (or queen) size beds in the entire hotel?
The clerk admitted they screwed up...and offered to comp our room...and offered continental breakfast...and validated our parking.
Short story is - they went above and beyond what was expected...and I've shared this story with countless friends.
