I have been going to Dr Fraser for about 10 years. He has cared for my two cats for the last ten years and my current dog for the two months since we've had her. Dr Fraser also cared for our previous dog for the latter half of his life.
We can't say enough good things about Dr Fraser and his practice. What we love most about Dr Fraser is his no-nonsense, minimalist approach. He'll tell you if you're worrying for nothing and never suggests anything--procedures, food, anything--if it isn't absolutely critical. He'll explain the pros and cons of his recommendations and what the alternatives are.
His approach and attitude are in such stark comparison to the big-box-store-chain animal hospitals in Toronto. You know the ones. You walk in and everything's glossy and there's a TV and free coffee. But you walk out and you need a second mortgage to pay your vet bill.
But it isn't really about money. I've taken my pets to the 24 hour hospital in what I thought was an emergency and I'm immediately panicing when the vet is listing off the list of things that could be wrong and tests that need to be done and administration of IVs and hospitalization. But sometimes in those situations I decide to wait until Dr Fraser is open and it's always ended up being a simple solution at a reasonable price.
For us, Dr Fraser is hands-down the best in the city.
