| - I ate at Vivace's a few months ago, and loved their duck lasagna. This year, I thought it'd be the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. I was so excited, and had planned a dinner with my friends months ago. Sadly, it was a terrible experience, and I will never go back.
The food was HORRENDOUS. I was SO disappointed by the choices. I had my eyes set on veal with ravioli, only to be told by the waiter that it had prosciutto (ham) in it, and I'm not allowed any pork. I also couldn't have it made without any. Seriously???
I decided to just order ravioli and calamari (I love calamari!). Well, the calamari was tiny, cold, and very peppery. It took about 45-50 mins for the food the be brought out, which would have been okay, had the wait been worth it. The ravioli tasted, I kid you not, just like the frozen stuff I get at the grocery store. It was smothered in thick lumps of mozzarella cheese that got stuck in my throat.
By this point I was just so upset, because I was really looking forward to indulge on my birthday. The waiter told me she would bring some pasta instead. It took another thirty minutes for the pasta to come, and in the mean time my friends had already finished their meals. By this point I had no desire to eat my dinner while my party was finished with theirs and ready to leave.
My appetite was gone, and I just wanted to leave. My birthday dinner, which I thought would be so special, was ruined. Just a little bit of effort on Vivace's part would have made the world of difference.
The menu was scarce, and the only two options are either something with pork, or completely vegetarian. I was very disappointed, and my birthday dinner was ruined.
I will NEVER go back to this place. I'd much rather go somewhere where they put a little more love and care into what they serve to their customers.
