If you're looking for a neighborhood bar with a great selection of food and drinks where the staff get to know, you, this is the place. The bartenders are the best in town. Dan, Jordan, Brett, Staci, Hunter... They're all great. They have a reliable rotating selection of drafts and keep a couple beers on cask (though we all wish they'd bring back PBR on draft). The food is great. Oysters are excellent, I love their tempeh tacos and mac and cheese, and they have $7/doz wings on Wednesdays. This is a place that I'm comfortable coming to alone to grab a bite because I know I'll always see a friendly face behind the bar. The only gripe I have is the smell that comes from the shared kitchen with reigning doughnuts. I know they're working on correcting the problem but you really do come out of the restaurant smelling like a fryer. I know several people that won't go to Growlers for this reason. That being said, this is the closest I've come to finding a bar like Cheers and the smell won't keep me from coming back.
