  • if I could give this place ZERO stars I absolutely would. I don't think they realized that I am a kinesiologist and biologist and I specialized in anatomy and microbiology so I actually work within the healthcare system and know when I see something that is just absolutely wrong. First off, I have stage 2 breast cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes and back so I am in pain much of the time. Since Vegas has THE WORST HEALTHCARE in the US we decided push our move early back to North Carolina. I went to NC already to meet with my team of doctors and I will be undergoing a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction in a few weeks and them chemotherapy a month later, and THEN 10 years of hormone therapy. I am 31 years old and that is a lot to have to put up with. I went to Centennial hills ER because I was in an excruciating amount of pain and had to be taken there via ambulance. I had proof of my cancer diagnosis on me so they would know that I was being truthful about my condition. FIRST, it took FOREVER for a doctor to even show up. When he did show up, he was so rude to me. He looked at my cancer paperwork like it was fake, and I finally said if you want confirmation you can speak to my oncologist in NC. He proceeded to ask me what we needed from him (I mean, seriously? He's the physician), and my husband answered that we are just trying to control the symptoms until we move to NC (about a week from now). Okay, so right as my husband was speaking the doctor got up and left!!! I mean, WHO DOES THIS?!? I wouldn't do that if someone was speaking directly to me. He then came up to me and proceeded to say well you have seen several different physicians over the last 2 months, and I told him that YES because I had a breast lump and I saw ALL MALE physicians who claimed that I was crazy and just a hypochondriac. I finally found a female physician and she was the person who took an interest in my health and gave me a fighting chance (Dr. Fauzia from Las Vegas Urgent Care). He then proceeded to roll his eyes at me and walk away from me! Who in the world treats a cancer patient in this manner? He put me under so much stress with how he treated me and my husband that I felt I had no choice but to walk out of that toxic facility. The physician I saw was so unprofessional and so god awful that I returned to my previous nursing training (I went to nursing school first), removed my own IV (the correct way, no bleeding), put the IV in the Biohazard bag and biohazard container and preceded to walk out the door. This is very uncharacteristic of me to do this, but I was so hurt by the physician's comments to me that I felt backed into a corner. I told the amazing paramedic that took me to the ER my experience with doctors and pharmacists here in Vegas, and apparently much of what they are doing to me isn't exactly legal. The doctors and pharmacists are NOT on the same page and it makes things absolutely crazy for the patient. Honestly, I don't think they give a damn abut the actual patients under their care. I am a cancer patient and I can die from breast cancer, but they didn't seem to give a damn about that fact. They didn't care that at the age of 31 I will lose both of my breasts in a matter of weeks. They didn't give a damn that I will undergo chemotherapy for 6 months and I will get extremely sick and lose my hair. After that I will be on hormone therapy that will render me unable to have children. No, they didn't care about how this makes me feel inside and how hard it is for me to face all of these challenges head on. They didn't care - they only cared about themselves, which is so incredibly sad. One gentleman that heard what was happening to me from the other section actually came up to us and said I know what you are going through - my wife died from cancer. What they are doing to you is wrong and I hope you know that you are doing the right thing. I am fighting for my life, and Centennial Hills ER pretty much made me feel bad about it. THey made me feel awful about my past medical history (when I was trying to find a physician that would listen) - and they didn't even ask what happened with the previous clinic. Several doctors left, and my pain management specialist is also leaving because of how bad Vegas Health Care system. All the good physicians end up leaving, and then you get stuck with the physicians like the one I had at Centennial Hills. If you are sick in any way shape or form DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY. Go to Dignity Health, anywhere but here - seriously. Unless you like to be treated like garbage on a consistent basis. Remember that Centennial Hills is part of a large corporation that includes facilities like Mountain View, Summerlin Hospital, Southern Hills, and several others. I personally wouldn't go to any of those facilities.
