  • I have a lot of mixed feelings about Vegas Hot. I love or loved going to take their classes, but sanitation could be a little better. They have though improve to clean more frequently in between classes. But there's still that one time on a Tuesday morning early class, I want to say Venus 6:30am in June, until they changed the schedule, that a cockroach the size of my whole thumb ran onto my mat during the standing sequence. I continued through the class but after that I did not go as frequently as I used to. Albeit, I only fell in love with yoga because of Vegas Hot, and it forever changed my life and outlook. The service fee, because it needs to be addressed, no I'm not happy about it. Do I think some of instructors deserve a tip yes, did I appreciate the people who didn't hound and guilt you into tipping yes. There were a few instructors that made it incredibly awkward if they didn't see you going to their tip box. VERY UN-YOGA like, but nevertheless this place is rather affordable for someone who wants to try yoga/Pilates/kettle bells. But based on what the owner stated on the e-mail and math. Say he pays a yoga instructor minimum wage $8.25/hour and we're going to say this individual is a full-time instructor to make it easier to comprehend with a normal 40 hr. Work week averaging $.20/person 200 people in a 3 class time frame. That's $40 for the 3 hrs. Or 13.33 + 8.25 = $21.58/hour. 21.58 x 40 hrs = $863.33/week and I'm gonna do it by 50 weeks so that way they get two weeks in vacation time. 863.33 x 40 = $43,166.67 gross roughly. Is that a fair living wage? I'd say so. In the same model but using the service fee they would be making 140.92/hr. In a day clearing 1,127.33. Who do you know that makes that much??? Doctors, lawyers, strippers, but my point is I'm just using the model that was in the e-mail. Oh and the estimated annual gross a bit over 2.25 million a year. So I don't know if that fee is going to the instructors or not but at that rate maybe I should become a yoga instructor... I called today to ask about how to put my account on a hold for a $10 monthly fee. Spoke with King and he said he would have to just terminate my contract. I expressed that I didn't want to have to pay fees to start again and I have just paid my monthly fee on the first. He said that I would be "banked" seeing as I have not taken a class yet and if I decide to come back it would be a $20 fee to restart. I didn't really know how to respond to that as it was the only option or continue paying my monthly membership fee. Oh and he would figure out my contract price then when I rejoined. So keep that in mind putting your account is not really a viable option. So yeah...pick your poison I guess. But still a great place if you've never done yoga before and want to learn the basics and see if you will go regularly with no repercussions really with the Month to month cancellation policy.
