I went to Gordon Ramsay Steak for New Years Eve with a fairly large group. We had a private room upstairs for the group and a small menu selection than what's normally available. The staff attending to our group was mostly friendly but there were a couple who were a little standoff-ish (part of why this place doesn't get a 5 star from me).
For the food... oh my goodness!! Each table had an appetizer sampler that included a couple different types of bread, sliders and some sort of shell fish thing that I couldn't eat. We were able to choose another appetizer for ourselves, with the option of beef carpaccio, a salad or a soup and then a main dish (Beef Wellington, Ahi Tuna and something else, but I forget what). I got the beef carpaccio and the beef Wellington and let me tell you: Both were AMAZING. For dessert, we had some sort of toffee cake which was served with what looked like a stick of butter...it was actually ice cream! It was good, but it was very very sweet. Like too sweet (the other part of why this place gets 4 stars instead of 5).
One of the downsides of being upstairs was having to go down the stairs to get to the rest room, but that's just me being lazy and having to walk up and down stairs in heels. Because we had a private room, I also wasn't really able to take in much else of the restaurant. It was packed though!
Gordon Ramsay himself wasn't there, but I didn't exactly expect him to be. lol
