  • I haven't bothered to come back since my last review (ahem, which was almost exactly THREE years ago to date; that's how BAD the experience was) -- but my boyfriend requested to try this place out for his birthday, so how could I refuse? Fine, we'll go... We made a reservation and I told the hostess it was his birthday, asking if they do anything special. She stated she would make a note for our server under the reservation -- and depending on the server, they'll either send out a round of shots or their donut dessert with a candle! Well, the server did wish him happy birthday before we ordered our food... and again as we left. But he didn't receive ANYTHING (which is even more annoying, because two booths down, that guy got a candle lit dessert!). Maybe I just get bad luck when I come to this place, but wow... it took everything in me to not make a scene as we left. Strike two, Herbs & Rye. ____________________ EDIT: - NOT TO MENTION A VERY SARCASTIC, CONDESCENDING & UNAPOLOGETIC BUSINESS OWNER! Thank you SO much for the insincere and unnecessary "apology" comment below, and for reminding me to never bring business to your establishment again. I'll knock off an extra star just for you (who needs a STRIKE THREE?)! =)
