| - Where to begin....
DEVALUED CUSTOMER: My family and I lived here for 2 years. All was great in the first 6 months until Avenue5 took over the property and made it Villa Blanco Apts. Since their take over, we've been treated like we don't matter and that our issues with the property/residents mean nothing.
PROBLEM: For about a year and a half, we've been dealing with the "smell of marijuana" in our unit. The smell seeps through our vents when the A/C and Heater are on, leaving a super strong odor; like someone is literally in the unit smoking. The smell is even stronger, and unbearable, in the laundry room. Since the marijuana issue started, we've reported it several times to the office staff. At first it felt like they were attempting to get something done. Tim, Melinda, and CK assured us that the issue would get resolved. After, so called, multiple attempts to locate the marijuana, they have been unsuccessful. They advised us to contact police, in which police informed us there was nothing they could do due to private property and marijuana laws. Police directed our problem back to Villa Blanco, which they still have yet to resolve it, despite multiple complaints. Today, it is May 18th, 2018, and we are still dealing with the smell of marijuana in our unit!
WORSE SERVICE: After a year of no resolution, we had asked for a transfer without charge. We literally had to fight for it by writing a letter of complaint to Avenue5, informing them of the battle we've had to deal with. While we got the transfer without charge, we did not realize we would be hit with a higher rent payment for the same exact unit style (2b/2b) in a different building. The office staff would not reason with us on the rent price, advising that the current price we had was "below market value". Our problem with this was that we were not transferring because we wanted to, we were transferring because the staff failed multiple times in getting rid of the marijuana smell. We took this situation back to Avenue5 by writing a 2nd letter of complaint, which they have yet to respond or do anything either. Note, through this all, the manager did not get involved in any of it. We were told we would receive calls from her, but nothing, not once.
OVERALL: This has been the worse service we ever received in apartment living. We have been treated by this staff like "we are just business" and NOT A VALUED RESIDENT. With that being said, we have decided NOT TO RENEW with Villa Blanco. So glad we are leaving this place in a week!!!
ON A POSITIVE NOTE: The maintenance crew are awesome! Every time we've had a maintenance issue, they've been quick to resolve it. They are so friendly, greeting us as they drive by our building or when they are servicing our unit when we are there.
