| - The Hilton Garden Inn is a beautifully modern hotel. It's in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, walking distance to U.S. Airways, Chase Field and CityScape. The hotel used to be a bank and for that reason the layout is very unique and secure. Their rooftop bar has an amazing view of the city.
Overall it's a great resort. There is only one downfall. The valet is $32 a night, even if you're a guest, no exceptions! And they do not offer any other self-parking options.
What makes the already pricey valet even worse, is that the valet guy scammed me. As I was checking out and getting my car, he told me that he "only took cash." So I paid him $32, plus tip. Then I noticed the valet bill had been charged to my room bill. I called the hotel immediately. They said the valet man "didn't understand the billing process." They took my money from him & put it toward the bill. I was extremely disappointed that more was not done. From a high-end resort, like the Hilton, you would expect something to be comped, an employee to be put on probation/fired, etc. The Hilton needs to be more cautious with the employees they hire and the rules that are shared or they will lose business!!
