  • While I originally had no problems with Dave's, my opinion of the store has eroded. As others have said, this store's advantage is singular: location. After comparing with other grocery stores, the pricing is far higher at Dave's than at other places, often 10-20% higher than even local competitors, and buying in bulk actually LOSES you money on many items because of the pricing. Their pricing on their repackaged candy is similarly frustrating, but I suppose someone must buy it at least occasionally because they keep stocking it! In addition, the last time I came here, I purchased a watermelon that was completely rotten. Not the store's fault completely, I suppose, but it all just adds up to a store that I'd rather avoid. Unlike others', my experiences with the employees have been ok, but they often fail to notice that I've brought bags in and start reflexively bagging my groceries. I'm sure I'll end up shopping at Dave's for occasional pre-packaged staples, but I won't buy anything substantial or fresh from here any time soon.
