| - I visited several times before writing this review- because- yes it is shiny, big and bright and holiness- there is a lot to see in here and what you see on day one- maybe totally different on week 3- so here it is-
I Love this place!
I'm not a regular grocery shopper- so if you're looking for a wide assortment of one product- go to a regular grocery store- you won't be disappointed.
If you're looking for quality items at a competitive price- you're going to find it here. When you walk in- the produce assortment and selection is amazing! It was fresh, beautiful, bountiful and well priced- wk 1-2 and 3! I made several requests for items they did not have- and boom- they appeared the next week. I've love the fresh prepped items in the produce section- thank you!
Flowers- unique, beautiful, fresh-
Bins- whole grains, nuts, (grinder) candies, olive oils, teas... (coughing sneezing people, sadly- are everywhere!)
Cafe- my first stop. Columbia St Roastery? May I shake the hand of the person who made that decision? That whole beans are available in bins is a bonus! Thank you!! Just brilliant!
Prepped foods: I've Celiac Disease- wish they'd consider using the upstairs kitchen to prep GF foods. Otherwise- it appears to be a grand hit!
Your upstairs lounge is beautiful! And a great place to stop and grab a quick bite before heading home.
Cheese and deli- I never leave there without a new cheese. Love their local selections, fresh mozzarella and sampling's.
Wines- there's always someone around to answer a question. Much appreciated.
Bakery- the two items I have purchased as gifts (cinnabuns and oatmeal raisin cookies, were a HUGE hit!) if you were a fan of Sam's Club petite style cakes and petite chocolate ganache cakes... they have them here! The one thing I never leave w/o: mini chocolate cupcakes w butter cream frosting.
Fishmonger: can we talk?? Dried scallops! The best Ever!! No extra water infused and the best you will ever have made or have anywhere! Do yourself a favor- buy these and make them this week.
Faroe Island salmon... must try! Taste is by far the best! Don't forget to have it dusted w tequila lime rub. Call ahead for pick up or dine in- toss on top of yummy spinach and strawberry salad from salad bar. Oh yes, they will cook it for you. Win.
Key west shrimp- if you've never tried key west shrimp... I must ask- why??? This is the best fish market in Champaign Urbana. Someone said the meat market wasn't big- that's because they don't carry crud meat- only high quality. And prices are competitive.
Someone compared the freezer section to Walmart. While size may matter- I don't know any Walmart that has the assortment that Harvest Market does. Four types of Ezekiel bread, gluten free gnocchi; chicken and beef bone broth, an entire section of gluten free bread; an entire section of Indian prepped foods- frozen organic root vegetables- very reasonably priced and more. Yes, there are some Reg frozen grocery items in there, but they are name brands- and I have to believe they are the best sellers in their category. Not everyone in the family adheres to organics or dietary restrictions.
But as in my case, when it comes to organics and gluten free products, produce, cheese, fish, frozen and even snacks- I am delighted to be able to have such variety, freshness, great pricing, excellent customer service and a lovely store to shop in, to boot.
I do not work here and in fact have to travel almost 30 mins to shop here. In my opinion, it is well worth the trip. I have never been disappointed and have always felt each trip was well worth the effort.
