I got a haircut with Vanessa and unfortunately I have to say it was not the most pleasurable experience. The hair cut was there but the professionalism was not. She was a chatterbug which is nothing negative except she needs to understand that not all clients are alike. I was just there to get a hair trim and nervousness is inevitable when you visit a new place for the first time trying out a new hair dresser. Instead she kept saying "are you nervous" to me even after I said yes I am and trying to be sarcastic like "your hair is all gone!". She even proceeded to pause chat with the guy in the waiting chair behind me while she was in the middle of cutting my hair, with the scissor in my face or with the blow dryer fully on. Burnt my scalp a couple of times because she would hold it just mm away from my skin or try to speed dry my hair by placing the funnel directly on my hair for prolonged period to the point that it was smoking and when I yelled ouch!! She replied with "is it hot?" If you're a hair dresser and you don't know that that hair dryer can be very hot you need to experience holding the blowdryer to your own scalp on full heat first before you can do other people's hair. Social cues are important and if the client is quiet that means they're just there to observe your skills or to enjoy "a slice of heaven" that is suppose to be Malana Spa's slogan except Vanessa would boast about her skills non-stop "I'm very good at cutting layers" or tried to sell me other services. They only have 1 hairdresser and she's only there on Friday and Saturday which is good because they can look into getting another hairdresser for Mon-Thursday.
