We took our Denali in to Desert Buick/GMC to get the back door fixed and an oil change - we had an appointment at 11 am on a Saturday. The back door was off track and wouldn't open with the remote. The service person we got was very uncommunicative and didn't seem very interested in why we were there. He gave us an estimate of $215 to repair the door and get an oil change. I thought that was a little high, but I really wanted it fixed since I was 9 months pregnant and really needed the convenience of the remote for the back door. After 5 hours of waiting, I finally called the dealership at 4 because we had not heard from them. They said that the door would be approximately $1000 to fix. We were stunned! We told them we could not afford that right now and that we'd just get the oil changed.
We went to pick up the Denali and they ended up charging us the entire $215 that they quoted to fix the door. My husband went ahead a paid it - because it was 5 pm on a Saturday and we needed our car. They said they had to do a diagnostic for the door. This was never mentioned or was it on the estimate they had given us - the estimate said repair - not a diagnostic. I felt this was very misleading. We will not be going back.
