  • I'm new to the area and chose We Fix It because of the multitude of excellent reviews online. One of the window regulators in my Impala was broken, so the window wouldn't go up. I admittedly don't know terribly much about cars, but with a little basic research online, I figured the part should cost me around $75-100. I estimated I'd pay that plus labor costs and wind up between $150-200 total. Anyhow, I arrived and told them not to fix anything until they diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate. They confirmed it was only the window regulator that was broken, but the guy said, "Oooh, the part for your car is super expensive. That's a pricey fix." (Coincidentally, I'd heard him use a similar line on 3 other customers while I waited.) He then quoted me just shy of $600. Seriously. Six hundred dollars. I was shocked and asked what the price of the part was, and he hedged around the question, never giving me a straight answer. I politely declined the fix and checked at a few other places around town. I ended up being able to get it fixed for $160 by a company (Power Window Repair) who came to my car to fix it. My advice, especially if you are a younger female, DON'T GO HERE. All I can assume is this is blatant sexism. I'm disgusted that they would try to take advantage with such a massive price mark-up.
