The only reason I give 2 stars instead of 1 is because I respect the fact that they are a no kill shelter. When you walk in, no one greets you...you're just left to figure it out. I hadn't been in a few years and went toward where the entrance to the dog kennels had been the last time I was there. Instead I got to the cat condos and saw a bunch of doors that said "employees only". My fiance and I wandered through the cats and looked at the small animals and finally ran in to someone to ask where the dogs were. They said you just look at the board and they bring the dogs out to you. We left after that, because a picture does nothing to show you the personality of a dog. We would have wanted them to bring every dog out to us, which would have taken forever. The last time I was there the dogs lived in squalid conditions...cold, muggy, dark, and dirty kennels with 2 or 3 other dogs. I'm assuming they changed their walk through policy to hide how terribly their dogs are kept and avoid the numerous complaints they used to get. Sad, because many dogs end up adopted due to connections with the adopter...not their poorly lit pictures of them scared.
