  • I spent 5 hours at this vet clinic last night with a sick cat who had to be admitted overnight. Unfortunately I've had to use this emergency vet many times over the last few years for various pets and have been happy with my experiences. Dr. McFadden is one of the best things about this clinic. The care and real concern she had for one of my cats who had cancer really touched me and helped during that difficult time. The only negative I can say about this place is sometimes I feel like they tend to try to steer you towards the more expensive treatment options. I get that this clinic isn't a charity and it costs a lot to keep it staffed 24/7 with people and with medical equipment to provide emergency care for all kinds of pets. This is a specialty clinic for emergencies and advanced services, so it's going to be expensive. I also understand that it can be frustrating and painful to have to deal with the reality of how expensive emergency care can be for your furry friend when you're devastated at the very likely possibility that you might lose a pet in the next few hours based on how much cash you have in the bank to spare for your cat/dog. However, it is reality. I've been in that waiting room in that very situation and it sucks. I've had to weigh cost vs. illness and the choice sucks either way. When I'm in that little room listening to the options and feeling like I'm being pushed towards the more expensive options, I ask a lot of questions and ask if there are cheaper alternatives and if it's possible to just stabilize my cat until my regular vet is open again. Sometimes this is an option and can help save money in this horrible situation. A lot of other reviews mention how cold and uncaring the staff seems to be. They might have gotten some staff members who were having a bad night, however I think the distance they exhibit is just self-defense against all of the pain and emotion from owners who are probably in tears. One of my cats had cancer and I took her to this clinic for chemo treatments for several months. In the time spent in the waiting room I saw devastated owners dealing with the loss of their pets 8 separate times, the most recent being just last night. It's heartbreaking, but this most likely happens several times per day for these people. All in all however frustrating the cost of emergency pet care can be, I wouldn't hesitate to take a sick animal here again if it's necessary.
