| - Unfortunately we just did not have the same positive outcome that so many others have had! To start, I tried to be as upfront as possible about our dog in that he has a lot of anxiety and became aggressive to others outside of our family after our baby was born (i.e., he will bark at others and will bite). We tried some other programs where we would take him to lessons, but nothing seemed to work, and we were feeling desperate. I feel like the initial response to my concerns was: We've seen it all. The boot camp program was recommended. It is definitely pricey and was a stretch for us, but again, we were desperate. Our little guy Coco was trained by Pat for two weeks, but then upon his return at the end of the program, I feel like the response changed to: Well he's always going to be anxious... You know how there are so many videos of dogs walking off leash and following commands? Well, that wasn't us. Our dog was apparently so scared during training that he tried to run away when he was off leash. He could not do that upon pick up, he wasn't great with heel, but he was doing much better with sit. Ok. I'm really not one to trust my dog with being off leash that much anyways so I can live with that, but we really wanted him to follow commands, which he still just does not do 10 months later. He's made a little progress, absolutely, but the moment there is a situation where he becomes a little scared or riled up, it's like all hell breaks lose all over again. We continue to use the shock collar and just have not seen any consistent gains. If we have people in the home, he continues to bite. We've tried to expose him to new situations slowly so we can continue the training, we've tried to have people in our house at times so Coco can get used to others, but honestly nothing has worked. We even paid an EXTRA $50 for the follow-up visit after boot camp to be held in our house, which is where we have the most difficulty. Overall, I feel like we paid a boatload of money to receive a shock collar, but we continue to have the same problems with his aggression towards others repeatedly. We love our dog and are keeping him, but our experience has just been really disappointing. I will say that Pat and Bob were responsive every time we have contacted them, and we have not reached out recently because we just feel deflated with it. We will reach out again, it is again just disappointing to follow what they say but continue to have the same problems over and over again in this case. I'm sure they do an awesome job with other dogs, as is clear in the reviews and the videos that they post, but this was a failure for us, and a very expensive one at that.
