| - I've been here several times, and have yet to have an experience that I would classify as unpleasant.
First, I would have to say that all the comments about the service being slow are 100% accurate. I don't know what it is about the atmosphere here, but everything just goes really slowly. My water glass has never been left empty, but there have been several moments where I wondered where our server was.
I've never noticed the longer food prep times that others have mentioned, but I usually expect a slightly longer wait for Thai food in general.
The staff is always friendly and sociable.
Pricing is definitely an issue here, but its due to the small portions. I've actually not gone here on more than one occasion due to the price point/lack of value on your dollar spent.
Menu items I've tried:
Beef Salad (excellent, my favorite dish here)
Edamame (get their special version, not the plain version)
Beef Jerky (a little salty for my taste, more of a seared beef than jerky)
Red Curry (just what you would expect, nothing great but not bad)
Green Curry (just what you would expect, nothing great but not bad)
Panang Curry (just what you would expect, nothing great but not bad)
Tom Yum Soup (very good, get it with shrimp)
Tom Kha Gai Soup (their best soup, very good with chicken or tofu)
Drunken Noodles (excellent, good texture, good spice, great flavor)
Pad Thai (love their version, not too sweet, good choice of noodles)
Papaya Salad (not very good, I"m more inclined to the Isaan version that's spicier, this version is too sweet for me)
Mahi Mahi with Black Mussels (very good, I was pleasantly surprised by this dish, it was an excellent recommendation by the server)
I would go back more often, but the portion sizes are small and the location is far away from me.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants good Thai food with a great intimate atmosphere. Bring a little patience with you and you'll be in for an excellent evening.
