Ooo, a taste of New York in Tempe (also known as the barren wasteland for foodies... I came straight from a short stint in LA so I am a little bit spoiled) and OPEN LATE!
I got the falafel platter and loaded it up on the white and hot sauce. The boy serving me seemed incredulous when I asked for ten lines of the hot sauce. (He really asked how many lines.) Boyfriend got the combo platter.
Both platters came to be around $20 total. A little pricy, but they are in a PRIMO location across ASU so they must need to pay the rent.
The owner - I think - asked me and my boyfriend how we were doing as we stood in line. Unfortunately, I wasn't really looking at him and didn't realize he was talking to us until I noticed he was looking at my boyfriend, and even then I was assuming he was talking to the group behind. I'm a little slow, ok.
We came at Saturday morning at 1am... so basically Friday night and it was still pretty busy... but the line moved fast.
Contemplating trying to baklava next time. And I'd probably ask for even more hot and white sauce next time!
