Needs less then 1 star. I signed up 1 year ago with directv and there bundle package included century link for 2 years at about $140 a month. Up until yesterday ive never spoken to a century link employee. We were sent a modem/router in the mail with an instruction sheet to hook it up. From day 1 the wireless internet was a joke, the direct tv reciever was constantly giving us an error connection message for any features that required internet access and more then one device connecting at a time would entirely kill it. When it was working it was way slower then using the hot spot on one of our cellphones. Not a big deal at the time since it saved us money overall on tv and we have our phone hotspots if we needed it.
This month, 1 year into our contract were told it was promotional and century link upped our bill from $40.00 to $75.00, just for internet access. Why would anyone pay nearly double what the basic cable internet sells for, for internet access thats still on a copper phone line and cant play a youtube video without buffering and cutting out? We only had it to get tv cheaper with our bundle.
The best offer from century links retention team, "well give you 1 more year at $40 but you still have to pay $75 for last month."
Not happening, ive got cell internet connections that work just fine at home and ill get a cable connection in tommarow at home. You can keep it and your AOL email address that you apparently send me information to. I would have never signed up if I knew I was dealing with a company involved with AOL, didnt you become irrelevant in the 90s at some point along with the 56k modem?
