I would love to have given this place 5 stars as I love supporting local business but what I saw was beyond gross.
First let me start by saying my son and I did taste a few cookies (oatmeal, sugar, pecan) a shake and ice cream. Most were good - not off the charts but the fresh from the oven oatmeal cookie was amazing. That gets the one star.
Now on to the bad. We visited on Sunday afternoon Feb 26th 2017 around 4pm. There were two younger guys working and there were a steady pace of people in and out. I will say it is a bit of a poor design as people enter from the front and back, the ice cream is in the middle and people are confused on how to order. The employees offered no direction so people were being served in no order at all. Frustration level was pretty high.
The employees wear gloves as they are touching the cookies to make your Sammie.
As my son and I sat and watched one employee used his gloved hands to pick up cookies, make a Sammie, stick his gloved hands in the ice cream, touch the register screen, take cash from a customer, touch the screen again, then without changing his gloves start helping the next person and yes start touching their cookies and ice cream and money etc. Not once did he change his gloves. Disgusting! Oh and he also decided to pick his bum with the same gloves as well.
All I could think of was that I was thankful the other guy helped us with our order.
So if the owner reads these- you might want to review basic hygiene and cleanliness with your staff. It's pretty bad when my 11 year old son - who I was with - is the one that pointed it out and knows better!
Sadly unless they do training and monitor the teens they hire I'm not sure health safety is worth it. Money is dirty and I personally don't want that in my ice cream!
