  • Located on the second floor of Cosmopolitan, Wicked Spoon is known to have an exotic variety of delicacies and foods. Extensive foodie research led us to try Wicked Spoon on our second visit in Las Vegas, and by the end of our meal, I was glad we did the research! Our money truly wasn't wasted. When we went, there wasn't a big line up so we didn't have wait too long. By the looks of all the rails, I guess really long line ups and wait times are possible, especially during peak seasons such as Christmas. (We went to Bacchanal Buffet during the holiday season once and it was a 2 hour wait!) The price of the buffet was like many other 5-star hotel buffets, at about $40/person. As soon as we were seated, our waitress came by to greet us and take our drink orders. We ordered two coke zeros and got ourselves ready for our buffet. Wicked Spoon has a huge array of food, ranging from hot and cold seafood, a great meat carving station, Asian delicacies including sushi and gourmet Chinese food, a mind-blowing dessert station and a great charcuterie section. There are far many more stations that I probably left out because I can't remember them. As we made our way through the food, I couldn't resist trying some of their mussels in Thai curry broth and cooked bone marrow with Korean gochujang sauce. Bone marrow is quite an expensive delicacy, so we were quite surprised to see it at the buffet! The steep price of $40 seems worth it right about now. The quality of the sushi was much better than Bacchanal Buffet; the maki rolls here were actually tasty and didn't have too much rice. What was really great at Wicked Spoon was their made to order seafood station. A chef cooked you seafood as you wished! There were about 8 kinds of raw seafood and shellfish and 3 broths (white wine, curry, spicy?) that you could customize. We were surprised at the quality of the seafood because they had everything from mussels to scallops, including squid, shrimp and much more. The broths were quite tasty as well; the only thing we were disappointed with was how the seafood was fully well cooked. We would've preferred them to be a little less cooked for better texture, but this was a buffet, so it was probably better that it was fully cooked for everyone. Though we didn't see raw oysters as we did at Bacchanal, the seafood section was quite superb in our opinion and there was something for everyone. While we were at the dessert station, hubby asked one of the patisseries there which desserts were a must-try. The patisserie was extremely helpful and friendly! He gave us many options and suggestions, and we were very pleased with them! They were extremely tasty and delicious...some I needed to go back for seconds. If you are like us and have some difficulty choosing, ask the chefs for their recommendations when the buffet is not too busy - I'm sure they'll be more than willing to help you out! Anyway, we were told that we should probably try their chocolate dipped strawberries, so I did just that. At Wicked Spoon, it wasn't just any chocolate dipped strawberries...they were covered with oreo as well!!!! There was another kind of chocolate dipped strawberry that I was debating with, but overall, oreo wins. The strawberries themselves were huge, much bigger than the ones at your local Godiva Chocolatier, and extremely juicy. With the chocolate and oreo covering, I was in heaven. The macarons were good but not anything spectacular. I've had better ones, but for buffet, they were quite good quality. The small strawberry eclair at the very left was very creamy and it was one of my other favourites. I thought it was a great idea that they also included sugar-free options (the small green jello like dessert on the very right) that people could enjoy. What surprised us the most at the dessert station was the use of edible gold on a lot of their desserts. I had never seen that before, and for the price we paid (~$40/person), I thought it was definitely worth the money. Where else can you eat endless dessert with gold on top? The gelato station also has more than 18 flavours to choose from! I'd definitely be back for that... Overall, our experience at Wicked Spoon by Cosmopolitan was a pleasant one with great service, food, and atmosphere. There was a big party of 10 that sat behind me that bothered me a little bit (there were toddlers and babies that were loud), but hey there's nothing a restaurant can do about that. The buffet was overall very clean, and all the customers were well spread out throughout the entire restaurant to keep it from crowding. Much of the food were quite fresh when we visited, and all the stations were clean thanks to the chefs and workers. Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better, and going to Wicked Spoon justified that. If that's what you're looking for, try Wicked Spoon!
