| - Not impressed!
Was ring shopping last week and decided to check out the engagement ring collection at Shane Co. after hearing about the great selection they supposedly had. It's quite a large store with cases upon cases of settings to look at. After about 10 minutes, I was only able to find ONE semi-decent setting I might wear.
We were greeted by a sales person, but had to wait several minutes before someone actually asked if we needed assistance. While friendly, the awkward questions began quickly...."So, how long have you been together?" and "Do your families know you are shopping?" Weird.
At Shane Co, the settings are empty and they drop in a loose diamond for you to look at. We asked to look at a few loose diamonds, which prompted a switch of sales people. The next associate came out with 3 diamonds to look at. We were reminded that they do not work on commission so no pressure.
Diamond sales gal asked us to look at the 3 options, but not to mix them. I later found out the prices (color, clarity, cut etc.) ranged from $3000-$10000 in the stones we were looking at. However, the associate couldn't tell the difference between the 3 when they were accidentally mixed up. Hmmmm.
Employees became extremely pushy toward the end of our visit; asking how much of a deposit we'd like to put down. No thank you!
I will not return to Shane Co. I do not trust the employees or their knowledge, and personally think their selection is unattractive.
