| - This was not my cup of tea, though my experience, personally was great and I had fun with my bridesmaids! The service here and feelings I got from the atmosphere were both unpleasant. (Though not enough to bring down the excitement of my first attempt to find a dress!)
I hunted down this "dream dress" that I had found online and it happened to be here, so we made an afternoon of it. This was my first time even coming close to wedding dresses and here I was, about to put my dream dress on! Exciting!
The woman working was not very helpful. I know I didn't have an appointment, but those aren't required; there were only a couple of others in the whole store, we could have been taken care of easily.
We walked in, fresh and excited, but she just kind of looked at us like we should have known the procedure for starting this whole thing. I had previously emailed and called to check on the dress and I mentioned this to this woman. She jumped right on, assuming things and looking for a prom dress! When I clarified with her that she was, in fact, looking for an orange dress, not a white bridal gown, I corrected her and she got really confused and skeptical. It seemed like she began to treat me like I didn't belong here. I know I'm a small-framed person and people tend to think I'm young, but I really didn't appreciate the fact that once she thought I was going to prom, she kept treating me like a teenager messing around and trying on wedding gowns.
Once the dress was pulled, she shoved me in a dressing room and I got on with putting the dress on. Once it was on, I was still in love with looking at the dress, but not at myself in it, so I wanted to make the most of the trip and try on some others. She seemed excited to pull more, but reluctant at the same time, still acting like I didn't belong and wanting to get me out ASAP. Everything seemed very frantic and rushed.
Without getting my budget and simply glancing at my photos for ideas that I had brought in (all the while, making judgments and going her own direction), she began scurrying around and grabbing dresses that weren't anywhere near what I wanted. This was good, because I got a better idea of what I liked, but being a consultant, she didn't really consult me much. When I asked to try on dresses with sleeves, she snapped that there weren't any in my (imagined by her) price range, which made me feel judged. She was really pushy about what I SHOULD like and didn't take into consideration what I actually liked. When I finally got in a dress that I did like, she was adamant that it couldn't be altered the way I envisioned and I began to think that because this wasn't a full price dress (sale rack, woo!), she wasn't gung-ho on selling it to me...which was also really frustrating.
I was finished with putting all of her picks on and kind of wanted to keep looking around, but then she was suddenly asking for my information and shooing me out the door! Overall, I was overwhelmed with the whirlwind of that experience and decided that even though I was drawn to a couple of the dresses here, I didn't want my business going to this establishment. I had fun with my girlfriends and it's an experience for the memory book, but SERIOUSLY jolting and unpleasant on the service side.
If you're looking for a bridal, bridesmaid, or prom dress, I'd say not to come here unless you want unhelpful, pushy and judgmental service.
