In the last 3 to 4 years I had many repairs done at Shanes. I am familiar with this place, Shane, his wife, and employees. I am disappointed to have to say to me Shanes has changed and really has become a place I don't recognize anymore. I find it to now be as disreputable as people sometimes expect from "slick" auto repair shops. Recently I had a leak fixed. Low and behold it started leaking again. I took it back in to him. Instead of taking any ownership for the problem he, convinced me I needed 2 hoses for the power steering pump and charged $203 for two basic hoses!!!! He told me it was the hoses that were leaking, never a peep about the pump or anything else. I took it home and in a day or so noticed it was leaking even worse, from the same place. How nice it made my driveway look. I brought it back (from Maricopa City). Of course he took no ownership yet again and said, Oh, your power steering pump is leaking. He said it was 3.5 or so hours labor to fix (remember this) and eighty some dollars for the part. This sounded just too sketchy to me. He always has said if he fixes something (like a leak) he guarantees it for 2 years. It seemed shady that the pump started leaking AFTER he charged me so much for two simple hoses. I took the vehicle to Big O. They said the part was seventy some dollars and the computer said 1.5 hours to install. I really suspected Shanes was doing it to me. I will never go to his shop again. I think he is crook. Everyone else can make their own decisions but 3 or 4 years ago he seemed fine. Then about a year or two ago I think he doubled his shop space. That's fine, but everyone else shouldn't have to pay for his decisions.
